Frequently Asked Questions
What are the income tax rates in the Philippines for 2026?
Under the TRAIN Law schedule in force since 1 January 2023, annual taxable income up to ₱250,000 is tax-free. Then 15% on the excess over ₱250,000 up to ₱400,000, ₱22,500 plus 20% up to ₱800,000, ₱102,500 plus 25% up to ₱2 million, ₱402,500 plus 30% up to ₱8 million, and ₱2,202,500 plus 35% above that.
How much is the SSS contribution in 2026?
The SSS rate is 15% of your monthly salary credit (MSC): you pay 5% and your employer pays 10%, plus the employer’s ₱10 or ₱30 Employees’ Compensation premium. The MSC goes up in ₱500 steps from ₱5,000 to ₱35,000, so the most an employee pays is ₱1,750 a month.
How are PhilHealth and Pag-IBIG worked out?
PhilHealth is 5% of your monthly basic salary, shared equally, with a ₱10,000 floor and ₱100,000 ceiling, so you pay ₱250 to ₱2,500 a month. Pag-IBIG is 2% of your monthly salary up to ₱10,000 (1% if you earn ₱1,500 or less), matched by your employer, so the usual amount is ₱200 each.
Is the 13th-month pay taxed?
Your 13th-month pay and other benefits such as bonuses are tax-free up to ₱90,000 a year in total. Anything above that is added to your taxable income. Mandatory SSS, PhilHealth and Pag-IBIG contributions are also deducted before tax.
Is this an official BIR calculator?
No. This is an estimate, not official tax advice. It uses the published BIR, SSS, PhilHealth and Pag-IBIG rates, but your employer’s payroll, de minimis benefits, overtime and other adjustments can change the figure. Check your payslip or ask the BIR or your HR team.
What is not included?
Minimum wage earner exemptions, overtime, holiday and night-shift pay, de minimis benefits, voluntary Pag-IBIG contributions, SSS loans and salary deductions are not included. Withholding is shown on the annual tax due; monthly payroll may spread it slightly differently.
