Frequently Asked Questions

What are the CPF rates in 2026?

From 1 January 2026, for Singapore Citizens and PRs from their 3rd year, on monthly wages above S$750: age 55 and below, employee 20% and employer 17%; above 55 to 60, 18% and 16%; above 60 to 65, 12.5% and 12.5%; above 65 to 70, 7.5% and 9%; above 70, 5% and 7.5%.

What is the CPF salary ceiling?

CPF is charged on ordinary wages up to S$8,000 a month from 1 January 2026. Bonuses (additional wages) attract CPF up to S$102,000 minus the ordinary wages that attracted CPF in the year.

How is income tax worked out?

Income tax is charged on your yearly income after reliefs, at resident rates from 0% on the first S$20,000 up to 24% above S$1 million. This calculator deducts earned income relief and your CPF contributions (CPF relief). Pay earned in 2026 is taxed in Year of Assessment 2027. No personal income tax rebate is applied, as none has been announced for that year at the time of checking.

What about PRs in their first two years and low wages?

First- and second-year PRs pay graduated CPF rates, and wages of S$750 a month or less use reduced rates. Neither is modelled here; the calculator warns you when your wage is S$750 or less.

Do foreigners pay CPF?

No. Foreigners on employment passes do not pay CPF. They are taxed at resident rates if they are tax residents (usually 183 days or more in Singapore in the year), which this calculator assumes.

Is this an official IRAS or CPF calculator?

No. This is an estimate, not tax advice. It uses published CPF Board and IRAS rates but ignores CPF rounding, other reliefs and rebates, so check with IRAS or the CPF Board.
